The Blue Collar Workers - Demonstration
They are the blue collar workers of Taiwan. They are Filipinos, Indonesians, Vietnamese, sometimes Burmese or Thai, and work in generally unenviable conditions. Hundreds of migrant workers gathered in Taipei on Sunday, January 16, 2022, under the aegis of the Federation of Migrant Workers of Taiwan, near the central station, under the slogan "I want to change jobs freely". In Taiwan, migrant workers are subject to a specific law, 3-year contracts and cannot freely change employers. The cortege then moved to the headquarters of the ruling Democratic Progressive Party before expressing their demands in front of the Ministry of Labor.
